Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole
The Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole is a therapeutic solution for leg length discrepancy. It is constructed from the same compliant transparent material as the Clearly Adjustable Heel Lift but is simply a full length equivalent.
This Leg Length Discrepancy Insole can provide up to 18mm of comfortable elevation inside the shoe. This elevation is achieved by a maximum 6mm full length insole (adjustable in 1mm increments) with a maximum 12mm heel lift element on top of this full length insole (the heel lift is also adjustable in 1mm increments).
Features of the Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole
The slant or graduation of the heel lift tapers gradually almost to the metatarsal, minimising the angle at which the foot and ankle rests. This gradual slope minimises the change in ankle angle, unlike the slightly more acute angle of a heel lift. Therefore, when using the Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole, the foot can remain in a more level position, reducing related and unwanted changes in gait, foot pressure and Achilles tendon length.
The elevation of the Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole can be customised for a perfect fit by removing or replacing layers of the insole element, the heel lift element, or both, to suit your precise requirements.
The Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole is manufactured from material that will not crush or change height while you are using it. Instead, it quickly conforms to the shape of your shoe ensuring comfort and the least possible change to the fit and feel of your shoe.
The transparent vinyl material layers that make up the Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole cling to themselves to make a strong and stable insole. These layers cling to themselves without sticking to other surfaces like socks or shoe fabric. The vinyl can also be cleaned easily. The material does not absorb moisture or support bacterial growth, preventing it from causing any odour in your shoe.
The Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole is the perfect choice for many people where one leg is shorter than the other and there is a limb length discrepancy requiring a greater degree of leg length compensation than is normally tackled inside the shoe.
Your shoe will require some space inside it to accommodate the Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole. Therefore shoes with laces and a slightly taller toe box or toe area are ideal for fitting the leg length discrepancy insole.
Uses For The Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole
The Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole is ideal for use in the following circumstances;
- Leg length discrepancy (one leg shorter than the other)
- A smaller foot on a shorter leg. The combination of the heel lift and full length insole height adjustment provides a precise fit with heel elevation.
- Post hip replacement which can cause a significant leg length inequality
- Prosthetic lower limbs or feet can be fitted to the shoe for better control. Soft or spongy insoles can reduce the connection with the ground. Replacing an insole with a Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole provides a snug fit for the shoe, exact and precise control over the height of the foot for swing through, and a firm contact with the surface for secure footing
- Firm support for sporting use
Suitable Types Of Shoe For The Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole
The Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole works well in standard, closed-heel shoes, as well as with sandals and open backed shoes. In standard, closed-heel shoes, adhesive positioning tape is not usually required to hold the insoles in place.
Fitting The Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole
When in position, the leg length discrepancy insoles takes up room in the toe end or forward end of the shoe. It will therefore cause your shoe to fit slightly more tightly, by approximately 1/2 a UK shoe size for every two or three layers of insoles used. If you are using the insole in laced shoes, this will allow you to use the insole comfortably by loosening the laces to suit.
Shoes with a tall or high toe area are ideal for use with the Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole. This avoids too tight a fit at the toes. Alternatively, the layers from the metatarsal (ball of the foot) area to the front of the insole can be trimmed to taper the lift and allow additional room for the toes.
Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insoles are available in individual shoe sizes. This will enable the insole to fit most shoes and foot sizes. However, an even more precise fit can be achieved if required by trimming the insole. Simply remove the original insole from your shoe and use this as a template by placing it against the Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole and drawing around it with a marker pen. Then separate the leg length discrepancy insole in 2mm to 3mm increments and cut away the areas outside the outline that you have made with a pair of sharp scissors. Then reassemble the layers to complete the insole.
When walking with the Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole, if you notice a slight slip, a small amount of double sided tape may be used to hold the insole in position.
Always consult a health care professional before using the Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole to ensure that this product is correct for your requirements, and suitable for your condition.

Can I Trim This Insole to the Correct Size?
The Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole is available in individual shoe sizes to fit most shoes and foot sizes. However, an even more precise fit, or to fit shoes slightly smaller than the smallest size, it is beneficial to trim the insole. To do this, please follow the instructions below:
- Simply remove the original insole from your shoe and use this as a template by placing it against the Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole and drawing around it with a marker pen.
- Next, separate the leg length discrepancy insole in 2mm to 3mm increments
- Cut away the areas outside the outline that you have made with a pair of sharp scissors
- Reassemble the layers according to your needs
- If the insole slips slightly, use a small amount of double-sided tape to position it in place
The Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole is sold as a single insole. Please select either the left or right foot version.
