If your ankle is swollen and you are close to a sizing boundary, we advise choosing a larger size.
What If My Feet Are Too Small for the A60?
If your feet are too small for the A60 you may prefer to consider an alternative. The Aircast AirSport Ankle Brace provides a similar profile of support and is available in an extra small option.
Why Is the Aircast A60 Our Top Ankle Brace for Sports?
To help you decide if this is the best ankle brace for you, we’ve outlined our favourite things about the A60 Support that we think puts it at the top of its game.
- High-quality design ideal for both professionals and beginners
- Plastic stabilisers effectively prevent sprains and ankle rollover
- Stabilising at 60° for a more comfortable resting angle
- Comfortable to wear with a breathable Breath-O-Prene material
- Quick and easy to put on with a secure single fastening strap
- Fits into most trainers, boots, and shoes without being bulky
- Suitable for hand washing in lukewarm water with mild soap and then air dried
How Are Rollovers and Sprains Prevented?
The white Aircast A60 features a plastic stabiliser that goes from one side of your ankle to the other, resting comfortably under the arch of your foot. The proprioceptive nature of the brace means you are more subconsciously aware of where you are placing your foot, helping to reduce the risk of further injury.
While traditional supports are typically designed with a 90° angle, the A60 supports the ankle at 60°. As this is more akin to the angle of your foot during activities, it makes the A60 Ankle Support ideal for preventing sprains and ankle rollover during sports.

Can I Wear the Aircast A60 with an Existing Sprain?
The Aircast A60 Brace provides prophylactic protection and support to prevent injured ankles before they occur. This preventative ankle brace is therefore not suitable for wearing with an existing ankle sprain.
If you’re almost ready to begin physical activity again before full recovery, we recommend the semi-rigid cushioning support of the Aircast Airsport Ankle Brace.
Can I Wear the A60 Ankle Support On Either Foot?
The Aircast brace features an anatomical shape to fit with the curves of your ankle, and should therefore be worn on the specified foot only. If you find that you have a particularly protruding ankle bone, you may wish to pair your A60 with the Silipos Gel Sleeve for optimal comfort.
Can I Wear The A60 on Both Ankles?
Yes! If you wish to protect both of your ankles against injury, wearing an A60 on each ankle is a good measure to prevent against sprains and ankle rollover.
Will the A60 Brace Fit Inside My Shoes?
With a low-profile design that doesn’t bulk out footwear, you can wear the A60 Ankle Support inside virtually any trainer, football boot, hiking boot or shoe. The brace contours to your ankle shape without excessive bulk, making sure it won’t compromise your footwear or your comfort.
How Easy Is It to Put On the A60 Support?
The lightweight ankle brace is quick and easy to put on, allowing you to strap it on in a matter of seconds. All you need to do is secure the internal sleeve at the front of your ankle with the hook-and-loop fastener, then bring the single strap around the back of your ankle and up through the plastic buckle on the outside of your ankle. This can then be adjusted to be as loose or as tight as required.

What Exercises Can I Do to Aid My Recovery?
Support is important, but stretching and strength exercises will be needed to get your ankle back to full health.
How Comfortable Is the A60?
The stabilising ankle brace is an incredibly comfortable and lightweight ankle support! The stabiliser rests snugly under the arch of your foot without adding any bulk to your shoes, while the curved design conforms to the natural shape of your foot.
Do I Wear Socks with the Aircast A60 Ankle Brace?
It’s best to wear the Aircast A60 brace on top of a sock. Not only will this make it more comfortable, but it will also prevent it from moving around while you’re active. As the brace is provided in a white colour, it can be worn discreetly over white sports socks.
How Does the A60 Stay In Place with Anti-Migration?
If you’ve ever worn an ankle brace that didn't provide adequate support, you’ll know that it’s incredibly uncomfortable if it shifts around while you’re working out. This movement, or migration, is prevented by the anti-migration design of the Aircast Ankle Brace.
As the A60 Ankle Support wraps under the arch of the foot, anchoring the support in the correct position, it is prevented from migrating up the leg during use. This reduces the risk of the brace moving out of its correct position and limits the time you need to spend repositioning the brace during sport or activity.
What Should I Do After I Take Off the Ankle Brace?
After taking off the Aircast A60 Ankle Brace, we recommend that you gently apply an ice pack to the area. Not only will this feel soothing after an intense workout, but it will also help to prevent any post-match discomfort from turning into something more nasty.
How Often Can I Wear The Support?
You can wear the A60 whenever you feel the need to protect your ankle during physical activities. The mesh fabric construction surrounding the plastic stabiliser stands up to vigorous use both outdoors on the pitch and inside the sports hall, providing you with vital support time and time again.
As the brace is designed to prevent further injury rather than to heal an existing sprain, there is no need to wear it constantly, for example when sitting for any length of time, and it's not designed for wearing at night while you sleep. However, for day-to-day walking about or physical activities, it's fine to wear the brace whenever you feel you require it. If you're experiencing any discomfort after wearing the brace for extended periods, then it may be worth considering a different size, and something like the Silipos Gel Sleeve can boost comfort.
What’s the Aircast A60 Ankle Brace Made Of?
This brace is made from special Breathe-O-Prene fabric, while the stabiliser inside the ankle brace is made from a moulded plastic. A full list of materials include:
- Nylon
- Spandex
- Polyester
- Polypropylene Resin
- Polyethylene Foam
Is the Aircast A60 a Latex-Free Ankle Brace?
Yes! The Aircast A60 is free from latex, making it suitable for you if you’re worried about latex allergies or if you often find latex-based products to be uncomfortable or irritating.
