Spenco Ironman Flexalign Support Trim Insoles

With a compact, lightweight design, the Spenco Ironman Flexalign Support Trim Insoles offer impressive impact cushioning and energy conversion without bulking out your shoe. These fully trimmable insoles fit in a wide variety of shoes, from running shoes and trainers to sandals.

What Are the Features of These Insoles?

To offer you the best in support, relief and performance, the Spenco Ironman Flexalign Support Trim Insoles contain the following:

  • Pwr-Gel Base – offers excellent cushioning for the heel which does not diminish over time
  • 360 Heel Cup – guarantees the whole heel receives cushioning and support upon impact, and protects the plantar fascia
  • Pwr-Bridge – offers a series of support structures to properly align the heel and mid-foot, improving gait and posture for the whole foot
  • Flexalign Construction – offers simultaneous shock absorption and energy return, allowing for lightweight performance
  • Trimmable – to allow you to reach the perfect fit from one of two sizes

Who Can Benefit from Using These Insoles?

Prioritising comfort and support, these lightweight insoles are perfect for anyone looking to train or recover with painful heels or arches. As a lightweight and insole they are also ideal to wear with sandals.

Which Parts of the Foot Do These Insoles Support?

These insoles help to support the full length of your foot but pay particular attention to your heel. They support and cushion the area where the plantar fascia meets the heel to reduce strain along and around this bone. At the same time, pressure is taken off of the lateral and medial arches through the effective control of foot position and gait.

How Does Pwr-Gel Work?

Spenco's Pwr-Gel material has been specially formulated to maximise cushioning for its wearer. It has less than 11% compression set, meaning it springs back up even after extended wear to allow for exceptional impact resistance which stands the test of time. At the same time it is robust and durable, and able to withstand tear or degradation mile after mile.

How Does the 360 Heel Cup Work?

The 360 Heel Cup is designed to offer support to the whole heel and beyond. It offers protection to both the medial and lateral sides to keep the heel aligned and prevent any kind of eversion or inversion, as well as cushioning the beginning of the plantar fascia to prevent the development or exacerbation of plantar fasciitis.

How Does the Pwr-Bridge Work?

By making use of a series of support structures across the heel and mid-foot, Pwr-Bridge technology properly aligns the heel and stabilises the foot. This allows support to be carried along the foot and through the medial and lateral arch, using the biomechanical correction of foot posture, throughout the gait cycle.

What Is Flexalign Construction?

Flexalign is a material formulated by Spenco to prioritise lightweight density, cushioning and performance. Its durable body absorbs impact and cushions your heel, while also transforming that impact into energy to maximise your performance.

Which Sizes Are Available?

These insoles are available in two sizes:

Insole UK Shoe Size
Small 4 – 9
Large 9 – 13

Can I Trim These Insoles?

To achieve the perfect size these insoles can be trimmed with normal scissors. We recommend always doing this carefully – you can always take more off but once trimmed the insoles will never get longer!

Which Activities Are These Insoles Appropriate For?

These insoles have been specifically developed for those training for the intensive Ironman triathlon, but are ideal for anyone undergoing repetitive impact. Since they are lightweight and comfortable, they are also ideal for general wear, and even appropriate to be worn in sandals.

Our Guide to Finding the Perfect Size and Fit

Using Your Shoe Size

For most of our insoles, the easiest way to find the best size for you is to go off of your current shoe size. The majority of our insoles are available in a range of sizes and you can simply select the size that best fits your existing shoes.

Please be aware that, as with shoes, there can be slight variations in the size of insoles. For example a size 8 of one brand might not be exactly the same size and width as the size 8 of another. To help account for these discrepancies, a number of our insoles include dimensions to help you ensure you're getting the right size.

Measuring Your Current Insoles

While using your shoe size to find your best size is a good guide, it is not always foolproof. If you want to guarantee that your insole fit your shoes as closely as possible, we recommend measuring your existing insole and using this as a guide to your size.

To do this, please follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Remove the existing insole from the shoes you wish to use your new insoles with (please note that not all insoles are removable)
  2. Measure the insoles at their longest and widest points (see the below diagram for an idea of where this will be
  3. Match the measurements to the dimensions of the insoles listed, and choose the size that best fits your results

Where Can I Find the Dimensions?

The dimensions for insoles can be found on the "Product Details" tab (please see below) and are usually found in the sizing section of the listing, in a table. Please be aware that not all products currently have the dimensions listed.

Trimming Your Insoles to Fit

To get the ultimate level of fit from your insoles, you can trim them to make a small adjustment. To trim your insoles, simply follow the steps below:

  1. Remove your existing insoles from your shoes
  2. Line up your existing and new insoles at the heel
  3. Trace the outline of the insoles against the new pair at the toe end (see the image below for an example)
  4. Carefully cut along the traced line
  5. Your insoles should now fit your shoes better

Please note that not all insoles are suitable for trimming. Most insoles are unsuitable for return once they have been trimmed to fit; we recommend bearing this in mind prior to trimming.
