Rehband Pronation and Supination Foot Wedges
Over-pronation or supination of the foot causes overuse type injuries, such as arch and heel pain, ankle sprains and Achilles tendinitis. If your foot rolls inwards or outwards excessively, your body alignment and weight distribution becomes compromised. This can lead to a range of problems and is particularly damaging if you are a runner.
Excess pronation and supination can cause bigger problems if left untreated, which is why taking steps to prevent it is so important. The Rehband Pronation and Supination Foot Wedges provide an easy way for you to do so.
Made from shock absorbing material, the wedges support the outer or inner edge of the foot to compensate for pronation or supination. This helps maximise your overall comfort and support, especially for those who are athletic.
The foot wedge are held in place by their naturally tacky surface which keeps the wedges in the correct position in your shoe.
Who Can Benefit from Pronation and Supination Foot Wedges?
Both Pronation and Supination can lead to a number of other conditions, so preventing this unwanted movement can be ideal for avoiding further foot conditions from developing. Some of the conditions associated with pronation and supination include:
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Achilles Tendinitis
- Heel Pain
- Ankle Pain
- Metatarsal Pain (metatarsalgia)
- Shin Splints
Made from shock absorbing material, the Rehband Pronation and Supination Wedges are suitable for all people, from runners looking to avoid injuries to nurses looking for greater comfort when working a long shift.
What is Pronation and Supination?
Pronation refers to the inward roll of the foot during normal motion, whilst supination is the opposite of this, describing the outward roll of the foot.
Both of these are natural human movements, however it is excessive pronation or supination that can lead to problems. Over-pronation causes your weight to be distributed unevenly, whilst over-supination reduces the body's natural shock absorbing capability.
