Formthotics Dual Density Full Length Insoles
The Formthotics Dual Density Full Length Insoles are made from two layers of 3D milled foam. These two layers work together to create the ultimate comfort and support. The top layer is made from soft foam, providing cushioning and comfort to the user, and a bottom layer provides support and strength. They are ideal in running shoes and for patients that play high impact sports along with every day activities.
The Dual Density Formthotics Full Length Insoles are suitable for conditions where additional cushioning is required without compromising stability or functional control e.g. plantar fascia problems or tibial stress syndrome, and also allows for better tolerance and patient acceptance of orthoses.
Features of the Formthotics Dual Density Full Length Insoles
The Dual Density Insoles utilise Formax Foam, made from a range of high grade proprietary thermo-formable polyolefin closed cell foams specially for Formthotics. The main foam is proprietary polyethylene foam which is firmer and more resistant to heat and will better hold a moulded shape than EVA. it is non-porous, flexible, lightweight, supportive and resistant to fungi and mould whilst also being hyper-allergenic.
Shock Stop foam is also used. A totally unique and revolutionary hybrid EVA polymer foam, it has maximum shock absorption and cushioning, reducing impact on muscles, joints and tendons. The insoles also feature an anti-microbial top layer which inhibits the growth of bacteria and foot odour keeping feet fresh and dry.
A deep heel cup creates a snug 3D fit around the heel which assists with shock absorption and minimises pressure caused by heel strike. Excellent arch support provides medial and lateral arch support under the metatarsal heads helping to keep ankles stable and improve natural gait.
Formthotics provide the 3 degrees of customisation required to meet the definition of foot orthoses. Formthotics can be thermoformed (heat moulded) to the plantar surface of the foot (or on a positive cast) at temperatures and pressures that can be utilised in the therapists’ office. This is due to the unique material that they are made of and the milling (vs. compression) method used in their manufacture. Extra milling and posting can also add further customisation for the user. This customisation must be carried out by a foot care professional.
